Völklingen
The Völklingen Ironworks (German: Völklinger Hütte) is a steelworks complex located in the German town of Völklingen in Saarland. Construction of the plant began in 1873 and the centre quickly became a unique industrial complex in Europe, handling all stages of cast iron and steel production.
In 1994, it was inscribed on the World Heritage List, making it the first industrial monument to do so.
Since 2011, URBAN ART has been held there, focusing on urban art.
